Proper preparation for leading a flight includes creating the brief for your flight. This brief is intended to prepare the flight for a successful mission and is provided to the flight members by the lead after the main brief concludes. In general, the flight brief will last between 10-20 minutes depending on the mission complexity and/or tasking.
NOTE: This guide is meant to help you determine what items may be helpful to include in your flight brief. You do not need to follow it verbatim. The basic flow of a properly done flight brief is as follows.
You may find it helpful to keep a copy of the following quick reference sheet when both creating and delivering your brief.
